This consists of nine blue & white stripes, with a dove in the canton surrounded by a circle of gold stars. The flag of Ambazonia, a self-declared state internationally recognised as a part of Cameroon - probably less likely given you saw the flag for sale in the United States. File:White-blue-white flag.svgborder96x176px. Several people created the idea of the white-blue-white flag shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine started on 24 February 2022. The flag of the Society of the Cincinnati again has thirteen blue & white stripes, but the canton contains a circle of fourteen white stars surrounding an eagle. The national flag of the Argentine Republic is a triband, composed of three equally wide horizontal bands coloured light blue and white. Flag of Russian opposition to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Kimball/Maguire Flag, as reconstructed from a written description of a flag used to represent the Deseret Territory - a provisional state of the US proposed by Mormon settlers - is similar, but with a large star in the canton surrounded by a circle of smaller stars. The only other possibility I can think of is that possibly due to how the flag was hanging when you saw it, it could have been possible to mistake the design of one of the following similar flags: As H2ONaCl mentioned in a comment, the US Army authorises the wearing of a 'subdued tactical flag insignia' while soldiers are deployed in AR 670-1 21-19, but this is generally olive or black, not blue and white. The only use of it that I'm aware of is as an unofficial hybrid version of the flags of the United States and Greece, as used in this advert for a language education company. The stars in the design, derived from the flag of the former Federal Republic of Central America (FRCA), symbolize the nations that formed the old FRCA, as well as the hope the five nations might one day reunite.I don't believe this flag has any particular meaning or significance. The flag of Chicago consists of two light blue horizontal bars, or stripes, on a field of white, each bar one-sixth the height of the full flag, and placed slightly less than one-sixth of the way from the top and bottom. The blue colour of the State Flag of Kazakhstan means pure sky, peace and prosperity, and self-colour of the background represents the unity of our country. These blue-white-red beacon lights were considered the most powerful in the world. The reason for the blue bands is sound they represent the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, respectively. I spoke to the manager and cleaning and bin empty was done. Tuesday we spent the morning at the pool on returning to the apartment about 1.00pm no cleaning had been done, no toilet bin emptied. Monday we spent a pleasant day by the pool, all fine. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and arrived Sunday night 15th August. We visited these apartments in August after having our villa cancelled the day before we were due to fly to Corfu, so this was basically the only option that suited our requirements. I have booked twice with Olympic Holidays and always been in the apartments around the pool, and have been more than satisfied with the stay.… I can't vouch for the interior of these although I gather these may be where you stay if you book privately. One is more modern (in the pictures, a dark smooth building with glass balconies) and another more typical house nearby. The owner has expanded to include another two apartment blocks away from the pool area. The low cliffs and rock formations at the north end are a delightful sight to see and swim around, though it's their steady erosion that means the water isn't as clear as at other locations around Corfu. The beach is long and sandy, the sea warm and shallow a long way out, though you may encounter some mud or stones underfoot as you wade out. But the bus services are regular and run fairly late into the evening as it's a key resort. ![]() The only disadvantage to the location is it's a long coach or bus ride if you want to visit the capital Corfu town itself as you're right up on the north coast. There is one chip shop, and very good it is too, but there is no shortage of Greek fayre all around, with a couple of good Italian places and an all-night snack bar in the centre of town. Particularly noisy nightclubs have all left the area in recent yeqrs as the regular visitors have, shall we say, matured. Sidari itself is a lively town suited to British tastes with numerous music bars, famous for tribute act performers, and a range of restaurants in any direction you choose to head. Walking the other direction along the shore leads first to an excellent mini-market and the long-standing El Greco restaurant, then beyond and inland past a monastery up into the hills. Beyond the town the road heads off towards Peroulades - a taxi ride away or you can walk to the popular out-of-town Orchard restaurant then head up towards the cliff path that leads to stunning views of Cape Drastis. To reach the low 'Canal d'Amour' cliff area is a bit of a trek from this side of Corfu, but it's nice at night to be away from the noisier bars. You can walk continuously along the beach if you prefer. Again, there's a further walk of about 5 minutes to reach the main shopping street of Sidari, and the main beach is at the far end of that. There's a short walk along a concrete road that comes out between a few restaurants on the Megali beach side of Sidari. The bar serves up drinks and a limited selection of cooked snacks, all at reasonably cheap prices for the area. There's a separate shallow paddling area for toddlers. The pool is fairly large as Corfu hotels go and clean. The balcony overlooks the pool and a field beyond that, and at the back, the main door overlooks an open field too. There's a mesh screen that can be pulled down if you want to leave the balcony doors open at night but keep the bugs out. I don't recall needing air conditioning as opening the front door and the balcony sliding doors provided a nice breeze through at any time of day or night. The balcony area is just about big enough for a table and a couple of chairs. The room itself is very spacious and there's room for a separate dining table with chairs between the kitchen area and the beds. There's no safe in the room but there are safe deposit boxes in the main bar and lounge area. ![]() The bathroom is clean enough if not completely pristine. There's no high bracket to fix the shower head on, you have to hold it up (please ignore the idiot who added a photograph of a shower head gaffer-taped to the curtain rail - that wasn't the hotel that did that). ![]() Toilet, sink and shower pan with curtain. Bathroom was a bit small and simple again. The room has basic amenities - 2 decent single beds (typical firm mattresses), kitchen sink with electric kettle, fridge, and mini-cooker with hotplates on top, all in good working order. I stayed in a 2-3 person apartment in the main block adjacent to the pool.
